The Melody of Married Life
Quick Overview
The concept of marriage in the Indian heritage
The foundation of ancient Indian organisational system of the human life span lies in the division of life span into four parts called four Ashrmas or four stages. The concept of organisational system has been applied to corporate organisations and governments. But the Indian Maharshis have developed the idea of personal life management with application of organisational system to human life. Human life span was considered to be of about 100 years. A number of Vedic hymns speak of a human life of hundred years. This life span of 100 years was divided into four parts of 25 years each. These four parts are:
1) Brahmacharya Ashram - The Span of devotion to learning & austerities up to first 25 years of human life.
2) Gruhastha Ashram - The Span of devotion to married life & homely affairs spread from 26 to 50 years of human life.
3) Vanprastha Ashram - The Span of life devoted to social well being, wherein living in forests away from home & family is expected, this Span covers next 25 years, i.e. 51-75 of human life.
4) Sanyas Ashram - The Span of life devoted to renunciation and realisation of the Ultimate spread from 76-100 years.
Personal life management is one of the novel concepts that needs deep understanding, because the key to success in life totally depends upon this.
